2012 End of Year Review

 

Following a sucessful 2012 for the students; presentations took place on 15th December, one week after the latest gradings took place. The award for the most sucessful student "Judoka of the Year" went to twelve year old Chris Sayers of Wallsend,  who entered five local and national competitions. Chris won a gold, three bronze medals and a runner up medal, attaining the grade of 8th mon in the British Judo Association's grading scheme. Chris joined the club in November 2011 having started judo with a club in Wallsend.
 
The best up and coming student went to twelve year old Saffron Gadema of Seaton Sluice who only took up the sport at the beginning of October 2012, but is already proving to be an asset to the club and has good prospects for the future!
 
Eight year old James Lowden from Dudley won the award for best effort over the year having taken up the sport in summer 2011. James also attained the grade of kano 3 in the grading last week. A special mention to Alannha Harding for attaining best efforts at competitions this year. Finally, seven year old Yussef Gadema and nine year old Jasmin Gadema both attained the kano 1 grade.
 
New Students are always welcome at the club and we'll be starting back on Sunday 12 January (11.00am to 12.30 pm).
